Besame Mucho

We did a version of Besame Mucho in Latin Ensemble many years ago and sometimes I sing this song when I'm in the mood for melancholy love songs... today was such a day. I don't know if you've heard of it but its wonderful and one of my all time favorites. Mariachi Vargas does one, I think this is the version we did or quite possibly Cesaria Evora, don't remember.
Anyhow, when I searched playlist.com for the title, I found every artist and his dog has a version out so I flipped out (of course, cause most of 'em are crap) Even the Beatles did it in English but it doesn't hold to original sentiment of the piece, plus I think I've heard this version the most... yes I'm a Beatles fan, sue me. I'm pretty sure that Besame Mucho was originally French but I'll have to look that up to confirm.. why am I giving weird side-notes? Oh, I found an instrumental version (marimba) there by someone named Perla de Chiapas--with a name like that you know I had to hear it! Pretty good version and I really enjoyed it though it was kinda short. When I sing it, I like to imagine that I'm singing it to my love the night before our tragic separation, after which we shall never meet each other again. Heheh, maybe in a past life, right?
I'm supposed to be packing our belongings so we can move out. Oh yeah, we're moving again. But no, I'm making lingerie and listening to love songs instead. I'll post pics when I finish the piece and possibly edit that pattern for clarity... but later.
::sigh::
...back to my sad love songs and crochet...

Spring cleaning

Today, my good husband took time to clean up the backyard, which was in need of grooming. There were remnants of branches and leaves from when Nino trimmed the trees along with miscellaneous trash. Before we moved into this house, there was a group of Mexican bachelors partying and littering the ground with beer bottles and bottle caps along with all sorts of other weird crap. There is a sink and an old kennel which we use to collect leaves in and such. My husband was going around digging up buried "treasure" and throwing it in the rubbish bin when he spotted a snake going in along with the rest of the garbage. He looked like a garter snake to me but because I was not sure I told prabhu not to pull him out. I did an image search for Texas snakes and found this little fellow. He is indeed very similar to the one we saw by whatever little daylight seeped into the garbage bin. We left the trash bin lid open so the snake could crawl out whenever he felt safe to do so... hopefully no racccons try and go through the trash. :(

Springtime overalls

Today, we went out to run errands with my prabhu, and since I was feeling so chipper, I pulled out Krishna Chandra's country attire. He looked so cute dressed in his little overalls and hat, which reads loudly in red letters, "RADHE RADHE". I kept telling him that he looked adorable like a little hillbilly country boy. He was truly captivating today, too bad Maria wasn't around to photograph him, that'd have been great! I would like to show you just how sweet and charming he looked, but alas, the moment is gone. On other news, I found out that Guru Maharaj is stopping in USA during his next tour, but only in Boston, New York and North Carolina; I wonder if he will stop in Dallas later in the year? I wish I could drop everything and just drive down to North Carolina when he's in town, it'd be great to see that temple. I've heard so many wonderful things about it, the scenery, breath-taking hills and greenery everywhere, the temple ambiance and the gorgeous Deities! My husband will just blabber on and on about the wonderful memories he has there, the devotees and sometimes, after seeing that strange trans-fixed look in his eyes, I feel that he left a part of his heart there too. He really, really, really loves those Deities, Sri Sri Radha Golokananda, They're so sweet and compassionate. Unfortunately, I've never seen Them in person(only photos), but I hear that They're absolutely divine, literally too, of course! Anyway, I should probably head off to bed now, it's getting pretty late.
