Etudes, Sonatas, and Duets, Oh My!

First, I want to tell you about the amazing Ekadashi cheesecake my friend made for me. She's freaking amazing at baked goods so whenever I feel like indulging in sweets, I ask her or Chandaneswar prabhu to make something. Today I must have eaten at least four slices. I will continue the Lord's work tomorrow after some rest.
I've been working on a Bach Violin Sonata and it's really challenging. It's hard because there's a lot of difficult bowing plus string crossings that don't seem humanly possible. At any rate, I'm practicing it alone at least 45 mins a day slowly with and without metronome (for rhythm work) plus etudes and ensemble pieces. I have a test and paper on Tuesday that I should study for but I'm too caught up with this Bach to even bother. I know I should neglect my academics, and I also know that it's important that I make an 'A' on these two assignments. However, my teacher expressed his concern with my progress on this sonata and I can't tell you how much that broke me up. I really want him to be pleased with it, but at this point I know I will probably continue to disappoint him at least for another week or two until I reach the breakthrough on these difficult passages.
